How it compares
Next to the Mora Garberg, the F1 is shorter and lighter with a thicker, convex-ground blade and premium laminated steel. Next to the KA-BAR Becker BK2, it is far lighter and easier to carry, trading chopping weight for portability.
What owners and reviewers say
“It is compact, but solidly built to tolerate abuse.” Steve, NatureOutside
“The knife itself is pure cutting magic.” Anthony Sculimbrene, GearJunkie
Questions people ask
Is the Fallkniven F1 full tang?
It has a broad tang that runs through the handle and shows at the butt, which is what gives the F1 its reputation for strength.
How do I sharpen a convex edge?
Strop or sharpen on a slightly soft surface, such as sandpaper over a mouse pad or a leather strop, rolling the edge as you go. Tormek and other makers publish guides specifically for the F1.
What is the difference between the F1 versions?
They share the same shape and handle. They differ in blade steel (VG10, VGWolf, 3G, Elmax and others) and sheath (Zytel or leather). The Zytel version is the tough, low-maintenance choice.
